What is Vimeo?
Vimeo is a video platform where people from all around the world independently upload and share videos and broadcast live.
The platform is ad-free and generates revenue by offering software as a service (SaaS) as well as subscription plans to businesses and creators.
How to use Vimeo?
You do not need to be a member to watch videos on Vimeo. However, if you want to use it by adding various videos and integrating with LMD, CMS and SaaS software systems, then you must be a member.
To add a video to a web page, simply click on "embed". In the next step, the site will guide you easily. Here, the most important difference when uploading videos is the possibility of adding videos at a limited level.
You can upload videos as much as the amount provided by the membership package features you will purchase. You cannot upload countless levels of videos in the same day. This ensures that unnecessary videos are blocked on the site and the quality is maintained. You also have a monthly viewing quota limit with bandwidth.
You can access the article about Vimeo Bandwidth here.
If you are going to use your videos on an LMS system such as Vedubox, you can customize the necessary video settings for all your videos.
To provide an integration link, you need to create an app from the Vimeo developer panel.
You can use these steps for this:
- Log in to the Vimeo developer panel.
- Click on the "+ Create an app" button on the top right of the page.
- After filling the required fields on the page that opens, click the "Create App" button.
- On the page that opens, the "Authenticated (you)" option below should be selected and all options that appear after selecting the "Private" option should be selected.
- The "Token" information created with the Generate button should be noted.
- The copied token information should be added to the "Vimeo Access Token" field in the Vimeo settings section on the Settings/System Integration page after logging into the Vedubox LMS system as an administrator.
If you wish, you can use Vimeo easily through the mobile application. You can update your information from the profile section, see the statistics of the videos you have uploaded, or delete these videos at any time.
You can customize and manage your videos on Vimeo.
You can watch videos only from integrated systems, you can make settings so that they are not watched from anywhere else, or you can customize the video player panel.
- For this, after logging into your Vimeo account panel, select the "Settings" option on the profile icon in the upper right.
- For the "Videos/Upload Defaults" settings on the left panel, you can edit and save the existing settings that you can see in the image.
- In the "Videos/Embed Presets" settings, you can save the features that you do not want to appear in the player bar by editing them as in the image.
- Copy the 9-digit code in the URL section.
- Add it to the "Vimeo Preset Id" field in the Vimeo settings section on the Settings/System Integration page.
If the videos are not broadcast with a system that provides video hosting and streaming services such as Vimeo, it is very possible to encounter problems such as freezing and not opening the videos as the number of users increases. Since the video compression feature is very successful, Vimeo has been providing quality service for many years.
In addition, with Vimeo record, you can record yourself, your screen or both in a very short time, and you can prepare a professional course video in minutes.
With the Vimeo create feature, you can choose the short video that suits your needs from many ready-made video templates, adjust the texts and colors and create promotional videos.
You can add the videos you have prepared to the Vedubox LMS system as course material.
