With the Exams feature, you can create exams using one or more pre-made tests.
These exams can be made mandatory at the end of a course, allowing you to assess your learners’ knowledge and performance.

You can also schedule exams for future dates, making it easier to plan assessments in advance.

Both System Administrator and Instructor accounts have the same functionality within the Exams module.

In some cases, access for instructors may be restricted depending on the system settings.

Accessing the Exams Module

  • Log in to your Vedubox system using your System Administrator or Instructor account.

  • Click on the Exams module.

  • Select Exams from the submenu.

Vedubox Exam Module Overview

The Vedubox Exam Module consists of four main steps:

  1. Create a Category

  2. Create Questions

  3. Create a Test

  4. Create an Exam

Step 1: Create a Test Category

Start by creating a Test Category to organize your questions and exams effectively.
Categories help you group related tests and manage your assessments more efficiently within the system.

Click Categories

Click the “+” button, then enter the category name and save it.
Your category will be created successfully — you can also add multiple categories or create subcategories as needed.

Step 2: Create a Question

Click on “Question Pool”, then press the “+” button to add a new question.

📘 Question Types in Vedubox

  • Multiple Choice: Create questions with several options where learners select one correct answer.

  • True / False: Add statements that learners mark as either true or false.

  • Open-Ended: Allow learners to write their own answers in a text box.

  • Ordering: Ask learners to arrange items, steps, or statements in the correct order.

  • Matching: Let learners match items from two lists, such as terms and definitions.

  • Drag and Drop into Text: Create fill-in-the-blank style questions where learners drag the correct answers into the text.

  • Multiple Answer: Create questions where learners can select more than one correct option.

  • Calculation: Add math-based or formula questions that require numeric answers or calculations.

While adding a question, you can use the text editor to insert audio, images, or videos into your question.
You can also set the question score, select the correct answer, and enter alternative options for learners to choose from

You can add feedback to each question.
When learners select the correct or incorrect answer, the system can display customized feedback messages accordingly.
Finally, choose the category for your question and click Save to store it.

Bulk Upload

You can also bulk upload questions to Vedubox using a sample Excel file.
Simply download the template, fill in your questions and answers, then upload it back to the system to import all questions at once.
This feature helps save time and ensures consistency when managing large question banks.

To add questions in bulk, click on “Batch Create”.

On the page that opens, download the sample Excel file and fill in the required information by entering your questions and answers.

In the downloaded Excel file, to indicate the correct answer, place a dot (.) at the beginning of the correct answer’s text.

For example:

  • .Paris → correct answer

  • London → incorrect answer

  • Berlin → incorrect answer

This helps Vedubox automatically identify the correct options during the import process.

Use the Upload option to upload your completed Excel file to the system.

Step 3: Create a  Quiz Pool

You can create tests in Vedubox using the questions you’ve previously prepared, or by converting an existing PDF document into a test.

This flexibility allows you to quickly design assessments from existing materials or build structured tests directly within the platform.
Once created, your tests can be used independently or included as part of a larger exam.

Click on the “Question Pool” menu, then press the “+” button to add your test.

You can write the test name, description, and instructions for participants.
You may also set a base score for the test and enable automatic rounding of decimal results to the nearest whole number.
By marking the test as Public, you allow other administrators in the system to view and edit it as well.

Select the test category, then click the “Next” button to move to the next step — the question selection section.

In the next step, you can select questions from the available categories and reorder them as needed.
Once ready, click Save to create your quiz.

If you want to turn a PDF into an exam, check the “Answer Sheet Enabled” option.
Then, click “Add Document” to upload your question PDF and specify the number of questions it contains.
After that, mark the correct answers to quickly generate your test.

The created quizzes can be used as course content within your training programs or included in the Exam Module to build full exams.

Step 4: Create a Exam

You can create exams in Vedubox using the tests you have already prepared.
You can also add certificates to exams and set a passing score for participants.

To create a new exam, click on the “Exam” tab and then press the “+” button.

You can enter the exam name and description, specify how many times participants are allowed to take the exam, and set a date range or make-up date for availability.

You can also configure whether users can view their exam results and decide if they will see detailed feedback, such as their answers and the correct ones.

If you want to sell the exam, you can enable the Sales option — once activated, the exam will appear on the sales page, allowing users to purchase it directly.

After selecting your exam category, proceed to the next step where you can choose which tests will be included in the exam

Select the tests you want to include by marking them and clicking Set.
You can also enable a passing score for the exam.
Finally, click Save to activate your exam.

After creating the exam, click the three-dot menu in the Exams section to access additional options:

  • View: Preview the exam as a student to see how it will appear to learners.

  • Update: Edit or update the exam details.

  • Certificate: Design and assign certificates for users who successfully pass the exam.

  • History: View participants’ scores and track their exam performance.

In the Exam History section, you can view the results of all users.
By clicking the “View” option from the three-dot menu, you can see each user’s ranking, identify which questions they answered incorrectly, and review their overall exam performance in detail.
